Love Art

Make you Valentine swoon with the Arts Council of Kanawha Valley’s inaugural fundraising event, Love Art on Saturday, February 11, 2012.

This is a night of romance, enchantment and the Arts.  Enjoy drink, appetizers, live music, theater, short films, dance instruction, poetry, and a fine art exhibit.  Tickets are $25 each or $45 a couple.  They will be available online at artskv.org or at Taylor Books, downtown Charleston on Friday, January 13, 2012.

The Arts Council of Kanawha Valley (ACKV) was formed in the fall of 2009 from the valley’s Cultural Plan to support, promote, and advocate for artists and arts agencies in WV from Charleston, Huntington to Beckley and everywhere in between.  The ACKV’s goal is to enhance the quality of life in the Kanawha Valley through the arts.

We focus on four main strategies:

¨ Support: Direct support (mini-grants) and indirect support (advocacy)

¨ Access: To current & new audiences, via online calendar and community initiatives

¨ Collaboration: web-based resources and networking events

¨ Education: provide business building skills

Location: NiSource Gas Transmission (formerly Columbia Gas) 1700 MacCorkle Av. SE, Charleston
